About Us:

Flatland Pointers and Boxers is a family owned and operated venture that is licensed by the State of Kansas as a "Hobby Breeder".  We are not a kennel.  We are a family of five and our three children play a great role in establishing much socialization and affection in each of our dogs and their pups.   As mentioned before, our home sits on  3 1/2 acres, so getting plenty of exercise is not a problem around here.  We take the owning and breeding of our animals very seriously.  We strive to produce healthy, intelligent, loving, loyal, and well socialized family companions.  All our adult dogs were carefully selected to ensure that they are bred based on quality, soundness of health, temperament, and conformation.  We are commited to providing our dogs and puppies with proper socialization in a clean, family environment.

ABOUT OUR GERMAN SHORTHAIRED POINTERS:

Our GSPs are a hunting and family dog.  Though our shorthaire's are great hunters from good lines, they are not the more hyper, field trial hunters.  While the children play a vital part in our shorthair's lives, providing them with the love and attention that every dog needs to feel like part of the family, Billy  is the one that they look up to.  He trains our shothairs with Melvin Crow of MJ's Upland Dog Haven in Goodland, KS in the following programs: General Obedience, Pointing/Flushing Program, Preseason/Physical Training, and  Field Training.  We recommend that all our pups see Melvin for their training after they leave.  (Please see his website link on our Links page for more information.)

ABOUT OUR BOXERS:

Our Boxers, as all Boxers should be, are very people friendly; thriving in a family environment.  They are bred for their alertness, dependability, and loyalty.  When not playing or "helping" the family with outside chores, our Boxers are attending training classes.  Ashleigh and Tessa are involved in the Pawsome Paws 4-H Dog Club and compete in the obedience, showmanship, and agility classes.  The 2010 4-H dog show season has lots of promise in it as Radar recieved many purple ribbons last year.  Our hope is to have Radar attend the 2010 Kansas State Fair Dog Show in one or more of the classes.  This season will be Sasha's first year.  Look for us in many of the surrounding county dog shows!!  2010 will also be the beginning of Radar and Sasha's AKC show career.
